World Down Syndrome Day is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. The date for WDSD – March 21 (3/21) – was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (x3) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.

Cerebral (“of the brain”) Palsy (“lack of muscle control”) is a neurological condition that affects mobility, caused by damage to the fetal brain. It is estimated that a baby is born with Cerebral Palsy every hour and 18 million people worldwide living with the condition.

Bipolar disorder is a brain disorder that causes unusual shifts in mood, energy, activity levels, and the ability to carry out day-to-day tasks that is different and more severe from the normal ups and downs that many people go through from time to time. It is estimated that the global prevalence of bipolar disorder is between 1 and 2% and has been said to be as high as 5%.
