Schedule A Federal Hiring Authority
Schedule A is an exception to traditional hiring methods and offers non-competitive hiring for persons with disabilities to be hired in federal jobs without requiring them to compete.
If you are a person with an intellectual disability, a severe physical disability, or a psychiatric disability, you can qualify for Schedule A.
First, you may need to submit documentation, including a “Proof of Disability Documentation” that can be requested from your doctor, and licensed medical or rehabilitation professional, or federal agencies that issue or provide disability benefits. After you have submitted any documentation needed, you can start applying on USAJobs.gov or directly with an agency using Schedule A. In order to be selected, you will need to show that you meet the qualifications of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
