Convening Goals: The goals of the 2021 convening are to (1) build the capacity of our members, (2) strengthen the National Network, and (3) sustain and grow the movement to broaden participation in STEM education and careers through disrupting inequitable systems and inspiring positive systems change.
In a year of great challenge and change, the NSF INCLUDES National Network will rise to meet the moment at our 2021 virtual convening: “Mobilizing to Transform Systems.” 2021 offers our nascent Network the opportunity to harness our collective power to enhance our work, strengthen our community, and accelerate the movement to broaden participation in STEM.
Convening Format: Through interactive peer learning sessions, exciting keynote speakers, and small-group breakouts the Network will:
- Build and deepen our connections
- Share best practices and resources around broadening participation and the elements of collaborative infrastructure
- Learn how to become involved in the NSF INCLUDES shared measurement system
- Explore strategies to support long-term sustainability of our work and the transformation of inequitable systems in STEM education and careers
The convening will feature sessions on topics such as translating research into practice, engaging with federal agency and industry partners, the importance of effective collaboration strategies and structures, the benefits and impacts of incorporating student voice into this work, findings from the recent National Network survey, overview of the Shared Measures system, and many more!
Sessions will be facilitated by Network members and the Hub, and topics will be informed by Network members. You are not required to attend the full convening; you can choose to attend the sessions that are most aligned to your work and interests.
