Many college students with disabilities with student loads will have their loans automatically discharged. The U.S. Department of Education anticipates more than 323,000 borrows will benefit from the student debt relief.
Identification of student loan borrows will happen through data batching with the Social Security Administration, but there will not be additional paperwork.
“This process is going to be a smooth process for our borrowers, where they’re not going to get bogged down with paperwork,” Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona told reporters.
